Policies covering social media and mobile devices
As I look to have multiple sites unblocked (i.e. YouTube) and integrate mobile devices into the classroom can anyone provide me with either examples of policies in place, lessons learned, and/or major points to consider. Thanks!

Kiplinger Program
Eric,
I just attended a three day social media workshop called Kip Camp. Kip Cam p is hosted by the Kiglinger Program at The Ohio State University. The facilitators shared a sample policy with the participants, but it's only a hard copy. I'll scan it when I get to school on Monday and send it to you (hopefully I'll remember by then!). In the mean time, you can tweet them at #kip camp and ask if they can send to you directly a sample policy. I hope this helps.
Be Great,
Dwight
Social Media Policy
Dwight,
If you wouldn't mind sharing that with me, as well, that would be great. I'm working with my Principal to create some policies surrounding the use of and student publishing using social media, and am trying to gather as much concrete language as I can. It's the legality that keeps tripping us up, and we want to approach this so it's obviously safe, but also productive & useful for the students & staff.

My fax is 973-365-2348 and I'm located just a few short miles from you in Passaic, NJ

Social Media Policies
We've been working on a social media policy for the past year. I have a draft of the policy and a presentation handout posted on my website at www.jenlamaster.com under Conference Presentations. You are welcome to look over our ideas.
Peace,
Jen

I'll try to get it to you this week.
Thanks Eric,
Also, big fan of your interview regarding the facebook page you've created for New Milford HS. About the same time I read the article in edweek, I had students create a web site for the grant I run in Passaic High School at www.passaicgearup.org using Google sites and the corresponding facebook page.
Thank you for your
Thank you for your willingness to share, Eric! I, too, would be interested in the policies that you have developed.
Thank you, Jen for your input.

I'd love a copy too but don't have a FAX. Could it be scanned and emailed? kjohnson1 @ ttsd.k12.or.us
