I am curious to see how other districts set up remediation programs in their schools in reponse to state test results. In NJ we have the HSPA (math/language arts) and am looking to add a HSPA prep course to be offered during 1/2 our lunch periods (lunch is 48 minutes, so a student would get 24 minutes of remediation each day leading up to the exam). We presently give a practice exam (released 2002 HSPA exam) in math and plan to offer it to all students in grades 9-10 in March when the 11th graders are being tested. The test results are then processed by a company who sends us detailed score reports for each student. Any student scoring partially proficient would be placed in this remediation program. What are other schools doing?
