The Foundation Center

Corporate and Foundation Grants
Corning Incorporated Foundation
The Corning Incorporated Foundation's educational grants support community-service programs for students, curriculum enrichment, student scholarships, facility improvement, and instructional-technology projects for the classroom. The foundation directs resources primarily toward initiatives that improve the quality of life near Corning Inc. locations including selected K-12 school districts, community colleges, and four year institutions of higher learning. Currently, the foundation fulfills approximately 136 grants in education and other areas totaling some $3 million. Support goes to institutions that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and which are public charities as defined in Section 509(a) of the Code.

National Science Foundation (NSF)
The NSF supports research and education in fields such as math, computer science, and the social sciences through grants, and contracts to colleges, universities, and other research and/or education institutions in all parts of the United States. NSF funds about 10,000 new awards annually. The foundation accounts for about 20 percent of federal support to academic institutions for basic research.

Technology Donation Programs
CRC Computer Recycling Center
Through its Recycling Computers for Education program, the CRC has been placing refurbished computers in California public schools and nonprofit education programs for the past 15 years. In so doing they’ve been able to keep over 100,000 items out of landfill. CRC also provides community and after-school training.

Computers for Learning
The Computers for Learning program donates surplus federal computer equipment to schools and educational nonprofit organizations, giving special consideration to those with the greatest need. Any public, private, or parochial school serving preK-12 students in the United States or its territories is eligible. (Daycare centers must provide a state-approved preschool curriculum.)

grant for college
I am a single parent who has been out of school for almost 8 years. I have an outstanding tuition balance over 3000.00. I do not qualify for financial aid at the present time. Are there any other educational grants out there. Please Help!!

Funding for free software in education
We are looking for a funding source to help us promote the teaching of free software in elementary and secondary schools. The White Knight Society is a 501(c)3 organization that promotes the teaching of non-proprietary free software in schools. Free software defends our freedoms because it permits students to learn how the software works and what it actually does. All the software installed and taught by a school should be available for the students to study, copy, alter and redistribute further. Our website is www.whiteknightsociety.org. Brand new library media center
As a newly hired Elementary Library Media Specialist, I desire to give our 488 students a 21st century learning hub. Where can I apply for literacy, technology, digital audio books, wireless laptop lab, and other items. My students deserve a library media center that is full of exciting multimedia learning projects. I hope to do Voicethread and iMovie podcasts.

Looking for 10 computers for Early Childhood Center
Skiatook Early Childhood Center has 6 Pre-K classes(120 students) that are in desperate need of 10 donated computers. We had 8 "passed down" to us that weren't refurbished, are too slow to run our newly adopted programs, and 4 have died. The monitors were also bigger than the computer table we had them set on!

Funding for our parent involvement program
Helping Involve Parents Inc is a non-profit organization that provides both a communication tool and workshops designed to increase the involvement of parents when it comes to their childrens education. We are looking for funding sources that would help us expand our program to more school districts. Currently we have the support of the NYC Council in select NYC Public Schools. However, our program is so exciting that we want to be able to offer it in other school districtsl across the country.

Tutoring students
I'm trying to find a way to get funds(grants) to help finance my tutoring business. I help students with their homework after school and would like to get a grant to help pay for staffing,equipment etc. I started doing this before I retired and had only a few students but now that I've retired I have a lot who need help but don't have the money to pay and I have a hard time saying no.
