Hi all,

Recently came across this group - http://www.maker-state.com/ - not really 'local' for me but they are nearby - love what these folks are up to and wondering if anyone has successfully used a group like this to increase interest in / awareness of STEM/STEAM and the like!

I'd love to organize a STEM night at my school but the setup and infrastructure has always intimidated me...

Thoughts? Experiences?

Wow, Kevin, that is an AMAZING program! If only they were in California... I'm looking forward to hearing from others who are bringing Maker/STEM/STEAM events to their schools. Our librarian has been building up a maker space in our library, so I know she'll appreciate the resources. Thanks for putting this out there.

Thanks Laura! Having seen a real, live makerspace in Vermont this summer, and experiencing the type of programming it offers and inspires, I wonder what it would take to get one started, and, what it would take to sustain it, profitably...hmmmmmm
