Discussion Questions
1. Do you agree that parents just need to get out of the way for their kids?
2. How can "home drive school?"
3. How do you engage the whole family in digital media?
4. How do you live in the moment with kids to support their current interests?

"get out of the way"
I am very involved in my son's education and try to offer opportunities outside of school for a broader, more well rounded education. I believe in being balanced about "getting out of the way" when he is learning. On one hand I am involved and want to engage him and on the other I want him to have space to explore what he finds interesting and for him discover things for himself.
One thing I do regarding any type of electronic device (games/computers) is that I allow him to figure out how to use it on his own. I do not explain anything to him and within a short period of time he knows what he is doing. I think he gains a lot of confidence by learning how to use things/programs on his own. (He is seven years old).
