Riverdale Country School is a coeducational independent, college-preparatory day school serving students pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Founded in 1907 by Frank S. Hackett, Riverdale’s program is based on guiding principles in four key areas: mind, character, commitment, and community. The school is one of the first to adopt Design Thinking to reinvent course curriculum and school culture. As a leader in Design Thinking, Riverdale is committed to sharing its experiences with other educators.
IDEO is a global innovation and design firm that uses a human-centered, design-based approach to help organizations in the education, business, government, and social sectors innovate and grow. The firm has long had a focus on education, collaborating with many different organizations to design new products, spaces, systems and strategies that help improve learning in people of all ages. Most recently, IDEO introduced the Design Thinking Toolkit for Educators which introduces the process and methods of design, adapted specifically for the context of education.
