Overcoming Autism: Public Schools Deal with a Growing Problem

Parents of "NT" kids need Education! I find it interting how people without an Autistic Child are so quick to tell us how to educate our kids or how much should be spent to help them have the best education possible. Until you have gone to IEP meetings, MDT meetings, Dealt with OT's, PT's and teachers on a regular basis-do not presume to tell me how much money you think my son needs to help improve his life. I am a realist as well-and here is one of the biggest lessons that I have learned about others who do not have a special needs child-they have no respect for our kids and do not value them as people. It is like they are second class citizens and of just a burden. Try reading. Try researching. Try caring! It goes a long way.
