George lucas's theories

Lucas can write good books and movie scripts, but his views on eductation are utopian pipe-dreams. Most kids, most of the time would rather not do academic learning. We have been doing this student-centered stuff for decades and it does not work, although it sounds good to someone like Lucas who has never taught. Only 26% of students who got to collge are ready for college. We have NCLB because of what edutopia is putting forth, which is not new at all, but instead goes back to Dewey early in the 20th century. The late 50s and early 60s was a backlash because of Sputnik.
Unfortunately learning is not always funa nd exciting, and the students that know and accept this do well. Please get a grip!!!!
