This article is 100% right but does not go far enough. Currently I coordinate and teach Financial Literacy - just did three days at a high school. Not only did they not have a clue about their money they were not prepared emotionally to leave behind their self-centered ideas. They will be in for such a shock.
However it is not confined to HS students. In speaking with a provost of a college whe said in repsonse to a remark that some of her staff didn't have a clue about money and one person [college grad in their mid twenties] did nto have a lcue and was deeply in debt. No idea how to deal with money - or life apparently.
Life skills seem to have been ignored for many people.
