Dr. Foster's Influence

Submitted by Mike Huhndorf (not verified) on August 8, 2007 - 19:51.

It seems so simple to do, so easy to see in hindsight yet it is a special kind of experience that becomes an epiphany through reflection. There are those special teachers who with empathy and acceptance of human foible that affect us for a lifetime. We often don't see it until it's gone. We have all had those kinds of teachers, hence the adage that one never knows where a teacher's influence ends - whether it is the prisoner who remembers that one individual who cared about him once, or the Nobel Prize winning scientist inspired by a teacher's enthusiasm for learning.

Thanks for that story Doug Crookshank. It spoke to me.
