This fascinating article shows photography creation from the perspective of visually impaired people. But, I wonder if there is a way to make existing images available to these people by creating a "translation" of them into a 3D piece? Graphic software often provides a filter to create fresco or some other type of abstraction from a photo, but is there a way to create a physical 3D "image" through that? Printing (or otherwise producing) would, of course, require a different technology. Has anyone experimented with making photogaphs "visual" to the visually impaired without having a person there live to translate?
3D images?
