As a teacher at a private school with the resources to provide many of the sorts of comforts you've described, I must say I think your comments are on the right track. However, I can't imagine the practicality of a school cafe that seats no more than a hundred students at a time. Our school has more than 650 high school students, plus more than 1200 others, plus hundreds of faculty and staff. Is that really in the realm of plausibility?
I've never seen an adult workplace (with the possible exception of Google-type places, with far more resources than even we have to work with) be anywhere close to such a situation.
cafeteria vs cafe
