Nice to see an article on simulations. Unfortunately I do agree that the large majority of teachers do not use simulations.
My students are huge fans of Incredible Machines, Building Homes of Our Own, Making History,Civilization III, Sim City and others.
The biggest obstacle we face is lack of hardware resourses for running the software and incompatible operating systems.
For the teachers who are nervous about their own ability, I recommend turning the reigns over to your students. They love when the tables are turned and I have found they are more than willing to teach the teacher.
