I read about this program in the book "Waging Peace in Our Schools" by Linda Lantieri and Janet Patti. These types of programs can only help our children. I teach at the high school level and am currently obtaining my Ed.D from Walden University. My emphasis will be that social/emotional learning can not only help students manage their emotions, but can then also help them to be more successful academically. I really appreciate the fact that Edutopia is sharing this information through its magazines as I hope the word will spread and school districts across the nation will implement this type of learning into its curriculum.
