Project based learning has been at the centre of teaching Practical and Applied Arts since it was introduced as a subject in the K-12 system. Project based learning has allowed PAA to not only survive as an elective subject but to thrive despite students being directed primarily towards University as a postsecondary option. Most of us are kenishetic tactile learners and that simply means we learn by doing. Project based learning has always been the path to authentic learning. If we want learning to improve, project based learning needs to be incorporated across the curriculum.
