Art has been doing this kind of teaching for decades for sure. It would be nice to be recognized for this fact - Every "new" educational idea that comes down the pike has been in the visual arts curriculum since day one. Project based learning FINALLY recognizes the individuality of each learner and the fact that collaborative learning is beneficial to the student as well as the group they work in.
