My wife has subbed for over 30 years. A fairly new superintendant sent her a letter a week before school started, thanking her for her service the past year. The next paragragh terminated her as her performance was reported to him as not at the standard expected of teachers and subs in the district. When she called him for an explanation and make sure she was the person in question, he said he would investigate further and get back to her. After about three weeks, she was given an appointment. He said two sources confirmed whatever she did. When she asked what she should say to people who ask her why she is not subbing, she was told to say she was taking time off.
When she asked if she could apply in other districts, she was told she served well, and would not say anything negative about her. Many parents and teachers are upset. The reasoning is he wont reveal the reason for termination because of confidentiality, and will not give the accuser's name because he doesn't want them "accousted". Any advice??? Bewildered
