A child is like a white paper ready to be filled with lines, circles, squares, words... anything really! They are easily capable of learning two or more languages at the same time. It all has to do with the environment in which they develop. Like all human beings they adapt to their environment. They just tend to adapt more quickly and more effectively than adults. So, this should simply not be a worry for any parent or teacher...
