I think this link is an invaluable resource for new. Recounting my first year as a teacher, I was advised of the statistics of new teachers abandoning their teaching positions. I was assigned a mentor, but due to time constraints there was very little mentoring that took place. My mentor always seemed pressed for time, and I always felt my questions were an imposition. I learned through trial and error and from veteran teachers during lunchtime, the fundamentals of teaching.
