Let the Games Begin: Entertainment Meets Education

The argument against this is absolutly ridiculous... of course video games can provide edcation. i have probably learned more about history from playing video games than I have in the class room. To the people who say there isn't enough research to allow this, I would say one thing "ACTUALLY GO OUT THERE AND PLAY A FEW GAMES". Thats all the "testing" that should be needed. Granted, there are some games that provide virtually no educational means and one could even go so far as to say that they are harming to players mentalities. Many games that I have played contain vocabulay that exceeds mine, and I would consider myself to have an alright vocabulary. Clearly video games can be used as an educational source just as much as a video, documentary, power point, and any other source. I am not saying that a video game cn provide all the necessary things that a person needs to be educated, but they can still be used. I mean geeze... the American military uses video game simulations to train soldiers... are you saying that we should stop 'educating' our soldiers?
