I am a fourth grade teacher and love it! I love my class and my school and I love my job. However, I can't afford to live. I give up so many things to be a teacher and I don't think I should have to. I don't want to give up the job I love, but I may have to. I agree with you that we are not respected like other professions and that we should be, if not more than. I am ready to do something, but I don't know where to start. What can we do? If you have ideas, I am ready and willing to help.
I am tired of hearing every teacher I know say, "that's the way it is, what can we do?" Well, there must be something, we should not have to settle just because we are not sure how to change the system. If that was true, how would change ever happen.
Thanks!
My thoughts exactly!
