I've always had a morning meeting time, but I've never taken into consideration how impactful it is! I've always started out our morning meeting time singing good morning to each other and each child finishes the sentence "I feel..." all coming up with their very own feeling words. I've always felt that learning to identify and express their feelings appropriately was important, but I am just now putting together just how critical it is!
The emotional and relationship building aspect of a classroom "is an essential and central element" (as superintendent Sheldon Berman stated).
I loved finding out that an entire school district has adopted such a wonderful social and emotional based learning program! It is encouraging and has motivated me even further to become even more focused on building strong emotional and social relationships!
