I was part of an EETT
I was part of an EETT (Enhancing Education Through Technology) Grant in 2004-2005. It was a huge turning point for me as an educator. Everything became new and exciting again. It was also a wonderful learning experience for my students. As 7th graders they learned to research and present academic topics. This is a kill that carries them through the remainder of their education.
Brookfiled HS video
Brookfield High School is ding an outstanding job utilizing technology in the classrooms.
-Motivation is clearly being used, as teachers allow students to engage and connect with distance learners.
-Enhanced instructional methods are definitely in place as students are able to visualize immediately physics experiments, inputting data on site as they collect data and sharing their data globally in biology class. Also students were able to make CD and share across the world breaking the barriers of language and distance.
-Increased productivity is also in place as they have faster access to information making their work more productive, by being able to have immediate access to different sites.
-Information Age skill - Students are learning a variety f skills as they utilize spreadsheets when collecting data, simulation as they do physics experiments, therefore students are able to visualize their work and learning how to interpret and understand their data.

Fostering ed tech and global awareness
Brookfield has really made the most of a grant of 23 laptops! I was surprised to hear of the 45 - 50 different languages spoken by the students. It has increased my awareness of the need for fostering both education in technology and global awareness.

Thank you Alberta! We're
Thank you Alberta! We're glad you enjoyed it. Aren't the kids great! Brookfield teacher.
Brookfield
Excellent video; not pretentious. The choir opens and closes the video. Good choice and use of the arts as an illustration of edutopia.
I enjoyed it immensely!
It is reassuring to see
It is reassuring to see students in high school using onsite technology to enrich their learning. Learning outside the classroom, which is then shared with other schools and/or used by other agencies allows the students' learning to live outside the classroom. Students will value and be more engaged in their learning when it is authentic. Well done Brookfield.
An elementary teacher in Alberta.
Brookfield video
That was great!
As a teacher of language in Tunisia, I happen to teach a module about education systems in the world. Good coincidence! I watched the video and immediately planned it in my schedule. My students enjoyed it so much. That was inspiring for all of us.Carry on!
Brookfield Video
We enjoyed the video so much.
Our daughter is on staff at Brookfield - Mrs. McCalla
so it was interesting for us in many ways.
Unfortunately I tried today at the school where I am the librarian to get it to work, I had sound but no video, so couldn't show it to others. However, I'll
mention it to our technician tomorrow and see if he can get it at least for the Junior High students.
Also - a great choir!!!
