Great recommendation Zep.

I wish I had known about this earlier.
I plan to get a copy.
It could be a stimulus for another column.

Love the Noddings rec., I would add Dr. Peter Gray's new book, Free to Learn, a unique well documented challenge to the status quo in general & specifically the notion that competition for grades, test scores, etc brings out the best in us.

Love the idea of a book list for kids ... and maybe have the students submit "book reviews" - written and/or videos.

A book for you, your students, and even prisoners?

The book was supposed to be the basis of a sitcom - but life never goes as planned. And it has detoured into the world of education. In schools, and now prisons. And our readers range from eighth graders to senior citizens.

Your list took me back to my year with a pre-school and especially the book reading and story-telling times.

It would be great to have books for kids of all ages as a regular feature on Edutopia.
