I completely agree. I have recently used some of these strategies in my classroom. Even in an all ELL community, the students seem to respond more positively when given options. Really great article!~

haha I used to do this with my boys. Worked like a charm :-) Do you want to do THIS or THIS? Left them feeling empowered, left me with a breezy momdom. I love this article. So simple yet full of truth! Now inspired to use this method with students too.

Great read! A teacher has to manage various personality types and make sure all students are learning to the best of their abilities. With the tips above, teachers will allow students to take ownership of the mistakes made.

Here at American College of Education, we offer educators a Certificate in Effective Classroom Management developed with Dr. Howie Knoff, a nationally renowned expert in classroom management. Educators learn research-based strategies and best practices for developing effective instructional programs and managing safe, supportive learning environments. How students feel about themselves and relate to others strongly predicts their achievement in school.
