These are great tools for teaching and learning about elections. I wonder if anyone has had any backlash or issues in the schools when addressing voting? Because politics can create such a divide between adults, I wonder if the effect trickles down to the students? How do you teach bipartisanship in your classroom?

Thanks for sharing your ideas. We have been talking about government and voting. Tomorrow, my class will be creating posters for candidates for class president. I love the idea of letting the kids vote using our response system. Additionally, we will vote on the Presidential election and compare our votes with the final election.

Great blog! At NTN, we created a project designed to help students find relevancy in the electoral process, students form their own political parties and determine their own common sets of beliefs. They create working functional political platforms and figure out ways to make substantial contributions to public policy. Students can focus on any number of timely topics. They must explain how they will fund and implement their policy and prove that the policy has real-world applications. Check out #myparty12 to watch kids in action!
