So using this, Heather. Thank you. I am in awe of the work that went into this. I'll be sharing with my administration and my colleagues as we have just got iPads in science class.

I have found using google docs as a collaborative tool invaluable for class discussions, analysis of music and as a TOK teacher in developing critical thinking and questions.

I really like your focus on improving students questions! It is an area we are actively studying. ALL educators interested in student questions can participate in our survey. Participants may receive the aggregate survey results when completed.

You might be interested in my technique of facilitating questions and critical thinking - writing Socratic dialogues on a variety of topics - between yourself and one other (also yourself), and taking the persona of somebody you know a little about or have some knowledge of - get a quotation from the net and explore it, what it implies and really means - to you. By doing this, you will be sure to explore your own reactions and understanding of it. Do try it, get in touch with me for more details.

What a great idea! I can't wait to share this with other teachers. I am curious about one thing. Aren't you limited in the number of people that can edit a document on Drive? I thought you couldn't have more than 10 or so making changes. If so, It would be hard for bigger classes to use Google Documents. I'm also curious if you've tried a backchannel web page like TodaysMeet, Edmodo, or Padlet? Thanks again for sharing! What a wonderful learning unit!

I really like this! As a speech and English teacher, I often found it was really hard to keep kids engaged during presentations- they were either worrying about their own speeches or checked out because they were "done," I can see how I could have used this as a great interactive way to make sure everyone stays tuned in and involved. I can also imagine using it with my graduate students during guest speakers and peer presentations. Can't wait to share!

Thanks for a great post!
