Thanks for the reminders- no matter how long you have been teaching, it is always great to hear tips from others, and the slogan was is a great one.

At our back-to-school staff meeting today, one of my colleagues also reminded us that it is important to get to know our new students in the first couple of days before we start piling on the work. Another great tip!

Of course for us back-to-school should have been tomorrow but we have a storm day for Hurricane Leslie instead. I guess MY tip is to feel so excited by the kids coming in that you are actually really disappointed when day one is postponed... and if you are not, fake it well!

I also found that a slogan was an easy way to be clear about classroom expectations.
"Be Respectful. Be Responsible," pretty much covers all the bases for my students. Thanks for the great post!
