Under the current system of

Under the current system of education of disabled children there are a number of factors adversely affecting the quality of education. These include: the growth of unjustified social inequalities of school children and students, the right to education (short curriculum) for admission to secondary schools and universities. It is that learning the normal way for the sick and the disabled is limited or impossible. This not only shifts from higher education and professional activities of the children's ability, but often increases social tensions, and the criminalization of youth. Expand access to educational programs and feasible work might broadly introducing new information and educational technology

enabling dreams video

Someone dear to me once said, "you will see things you never saw before". How right she was! This video is absolutely amazing! I thought this only happens in movies, but after watching this video, I realized how naive I was. Assistive technology does give life to disabled individuals who otherwise would feel isolated and alone.

Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology is so beneficial to our students with disabilities. I have five self-contained students that are mainstreamed into my class for related arts. Having assistive technology gives them the ability to “belong” and not feel different. They are able to do what any normal student can do. I have one student who has mastered the typing program that I use in class through the use of assistive technology. Being able to see and hear when a mistake is made and talk them through with step-by-step instructions has helped tremendously. Technology is truly evolving and helping in ways people would have never imagined it helping. Technology is saving lives, educating our students, as well as providing many different ways for learning.

Assistive Technology makes people exist

I have just shown this video in an English class to my master students of Educational Technology. Personally I was impressed (and moved) by the courage, energy and radiant mood of student Susanna Martini. Her words "Assistive technology is the major foundation of my life. Without it I could not exist as I am today." are the best incentive to people who devote their life and work to making the life of people like Susanna more liveable.
Thanks to Utopia for making such great video testimonials.

Adaptive Resources

What a great video. My son uses a device to speak and it amazes me how fast he has picked up new words and sentence structures. I know there are technologies out there that would help him even more, but finding them and then having help affording them is the real challenge.

Some devices are starting in the thousands and go up from there. To get school districts to understand the devices and why they are inportant is a challenge and they usually need more training than do the children.

Assistive Technology

I think that this is absolutely amazing. For technology to be able to save a person's life, helping them able to speak is amazing. I can't wait to read more about this.

This is so cool..... I have

This is so cool..... I have never really imagine that technology was used is such ways. Another thing that is really amazing are the people who are subjected with disabilities able to live their lives to the highest potential of their abilities. Not only are the people with disabilities have opportunities and having a greater future a head of them are the people that help others to achieve greatness. I really do think this video is amazing. I would have never thought that there are those types of technology available. Especially since, I live on a small island, those type of technology for people with disabilities is unheard due to the economics standards and lack of funding for such technology.

Assistive Technology: Enabling Dreams

This is a great video. It makes me extremely happy to know that disable students can benefit from new technology. I wish all schools would invest in this type of technology. Very inspiring.

My professor, Dr. Jacqui

My professor, Dr. Jacqui Cyrus linked this for us to watch. At first, I thought it was going to be dry. I certainly was wrong. It amazes me how technology truly assists others in terms of getting by in school to achieving dreams in music. A great clip to helps students appreciate what they have.

Enabling Dreams w/ Assistive Technology

Hi:
This is the 3rd year that I have required my education students to view this video clip. The second part of their assignment is to write about this video in their individual BLOGs. It the perfect capstone for our unit on enabling all learners.
