Ad Unit Sizes and File Sizes (IAB standard)

Creatives:
- Ads should not be designed to blend in with the Edutopia Website -- do not mimic editorial fonts or colors.
- All ads must include advertiser branding in the form of advertiser name and/or logo.
- Standard: GIF, animated GIF, JPG, SWF, site served Flash (actionscript 2.0 or lower) with back-up static.
- Rich Media: HTML, JavaScript, Flash, iFrame 3rd party ad tags.
Use of Cookies
- No use of scripts or code that attempt to identify users or browsing history or collect Personally Identifiable Info (PII).
- No use of tracking mechanisms, such as cookies, for the purpose of retargeting, segment categorization, or syndication related to Edutopia users.
Looping Restrictions
- 3 max.
- 15 second max on animation length.
- All audio must be user initiated on click. When audio is on, a "Mute" button is required.
Rich Media
A banner may not produce audio without user initiation. Once audio begins, there must be a clear "pause" or "stop" button.
Banners that expand on click or mouse over must have a clear "close" button and retract when the mouse is off banner.
ALT (Mouseover) text should be no greater than 10 words.
Flash Files
Actionscript 2.0 or less must be used.
The clickTAG must be embedded in supplied Flash file. Flash files without the clickTAG will not be accepted.

E-Newsletter
$30 CPM
Newsletters are mailed every Wednesday.
Only jpg or gif (non-animated) at 300 x 250 pixels.
Provide absolute linking URL.
Chaperone Email
Chaperones are mailed on a monthly basis.
Edutopia provides a choice of three template designs.
- Email will include the label "Advertisement" at the top, and footer opt-out information at the bottom.
- Email blasts are only provided as HTML, no text version or XHTML.
- Only jpgs or gifs are the accepted image type, sized to the selected Edutopia template:
Edutopia Template #1 | Edutopia Template #2 | Edutopia Template #3 - Subject line: Maximum 12 words or 150 characters.
- Provide absolute linking URL.
Advertiser HTML-provided file:
- Should be a combination of text and images with a strong call-to-action.
- 600 pixel maximum width.
- 50K maximum file size.
- One email test will be provided to client 72 hours in advance of campaign to advertiser for final text edits.
- Advertiser final edits must be received the Edutopia within 24-48 hours of campaign launch.
- More than one round of advertiser changes/review are subject to additional cost.
Delivery Deadlines
Monthly campaigns may require 30 days to deliver from start date.
Total online impressions are delivered and tracked by Edutopia's third party, Google Ad Manager/DoubleClick, and will be the impressions delivered of record by both publisher and advertiser.
5 full business days before start date for Standard Media.
5 full business days before start date for Rich Media.
10 full business days before start date for Newsletter.
10 full business days before start date for Chaperone.
