Edutopia.org Wins Prestigious Webby Award
2009 People's Voice Award for Best Education Site

The People's Voice voter turnout was the highest in Webby history, and Edutopia.org is thrilled to be acknowledged not only by leading experts in the field but also by the people who use Edutopia.org every day and rely on our resources to work toward improving education.

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, a Webby Award is the leading international award recognizing excellence on the Internet; there are categories for Web sites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile Web sites. The 13th Annual Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, received over 10,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries worldwide.
Edutopia.org was previously nominated in the Webby's Best Practices category in 2003. In 2009, Edutopia.org was nominated for Best Education Site among other exemplary sites focused on improving education and learning -- the Exploratorium's online exhibition Evidence: How Do We Know What We Know?, Smarthistory, ID Media/Times Media's Spelling Bee, and QA International's Visual Dictionary Online.
